Survey on scientific maturity for all current and former PhD students from the Department of Biology (and others)

Hi everybody,

I am doing a survey as part of a project in a course on higher education called “Didactics in Natural Sciences and Technology” (“Ämnesdidaktik i Naturvetenskap och Teknik”) at LU. The aim is to examine when and how PhD students reach scientific maturity or doctorateness, as defined by the time point in ones career when one has reached a comprehensive understanding of the wider field of the thesis subject and can add with original and innovative contributions to the concepts, theories and knowledge of the research field.

The survey is primarily aimed at current and former PhD students from the Department of Biology, or former Departments of Ecology and Cell and Organism Biology at Lund University, but also others are welcome to fill in the questionnaire! I will present the results in a report and a seminar that everybody is welcome to join (announced on the Biology website)!

The survey is anonymous and takes no more than 10 minutes. You can take the survey only once, but you are free to go back and make changes. Use the following link to the survey:

Thanks for your participation!
