Ernő Vincze – new post-doc

Portrait of Ernő Vincze. Photo.

My name is Ernő Vincze and I started working with Anders Brodin as a post-doctoral researcher this August. I am from Budapest, Hungary, where I also did my undergraduate studies in Biology at the Eötvös Loránd University, writing my Master thesis on assortative mate choice in zebra finches. I did my PhD at the University of Pannonia (Veszprém, Hungary) on urbanization’s effects on the behaviour of great tits (Parus major) and house sparrows (Passer domesticus) toward humans and predators.

In my post-doctoral project, I will study how cognitive abilities are related to habitat urbanization as well as molecular (genetic and hormonal) markers in great tits and other birds in the family Paridae. To do this, I will perform behavioural experiments on birds captured from urban and rural habitats.

I enjoy going out in the nature and observing birds and other animals. I also like fantasy role-playing games, both the tabletop and the live action variant.

I am looking forward to working at Lund University!
