Hey! I’m Jana from Germany and I just started my PhD this march. I will work on the host selection of the Eurasian spruce bark beetle, so you can find me in the Pheromone group in the Ecology building. My main supervisor is Martin N Andersson, but I will also work with Dineshkumar Kandasamy, Eric Warrant and Bill S. Hansson as my co-supervisors.
I graduated recently with a master’s in chemical biology in Germany but already did my lab work for the thesis here at Lund University with the beetles. If you ever want to see them, just send me an email and I’ll tour you around our breeding chambers!
When I am not working, I love to spend time in cafés in Malmö, go for a hike or to the sauna (quickly adapted to Swedish culture) and hopefully soon I’ll start horse riding again.
