Hi, my name is Mainak Chakraborty (Senior Member, IEEE), and I recently joined Prof. Eran Elhaik’s Lab in the Department of Biology at Lund University as a Postdoctoral Fellow.
I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune, India, in 2023. Before joining Lund University, I worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Mälardalen University, Västerås, Sweden. I also served as a Senior Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Engineering at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar, India, where I was actively involved in teaching, research, and academic mentoring.
I am a recipient of the AICTE–INAE Teachers Research Fellowship from the Indian National Academy of Engineering. I have also participated in national innovation initiatives, winning the Smart India Hackathon 2019 and securing 2nd Runner-Up at the Smart India Hackathon 2017.
My research interests include Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and Quantum AI, with a focus on developing intelligent computational models to address complex, real-world, and interdisciplinary challenges.
I am very excited to begin this new chapter at Lund University and to be part of the vibrant research community here.
