Hi everyone!
My name is Samantha and I recently started my PhD under the supervision of Helena Westerdahl at the Department of Biology. I have a Master degree in evolutionary ecology from France. Some people will recognize me because I did my Master project here at the department and since then, I never left!
I am very interested in host-pathogen interactions and especially by a key component of vertebrate’s immune system, the Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC). The MHC is fascinating and the aim of my project is to investigate gene expression between different MHC gene copies and in relation to disease such as avian malaria infection, in songbirds.
